Avoiding IP Bans: A Practical Checklist
Admin User · July 22, 2026
Most IP bans come down to a handful of avoidable patterns. Here's a quick checklist.
- Match request rate to the target. Sudden bursts are the easiest bot signal to catch.
- Rotate user agents alongside IPs. A consistent IP pool with an inconsistent (or clearly non-browser) user agent is still detectable.
- Respect robots.txt and rate limits where you can. It keeps you off the aggressive end of anti-bot systems.
- Use the right proxy type for the job. Residential/rotating for scale, ISP for stable per-account identity.
Combine these habits with the proxy type suited to your workload and you'll see meaningfully fewer blocks.
